I recently noticed that the wall tiles in my bathroom are falling off, and I am unsure what causes wall tiles to fall off. So I researched and found several potential reasons for the issue. It includes unprimed plaster under the tiles, a lack of cleaning before installation, and a few other factors. I have detailed all the reasons below.

Why are the Wall Tiles Falling Off?

Here are some reasons I came across for the wall tiles falling off.

  1. The wall was not primed before tiling, which I didn’t know was that important. But apparently, it will help the tiles stick better and keep water out.

  2. The glue might have been the wrong kind, or maybe it was not spread evenly. It can also make the tiles come loose.

  3. The tiles were probably not cleaned well before putting them up. Even a bit of dust can stop them from sticking properly.

  4. Also, I have learned that you need to let the glue dry fully before adding grout. If you rush it, the tiles won’t stay in place.

  5. And if the grout is not waterproof, water can get in and slowly cause the tiles to come loose.

These are the things I found. Hope it helps you understand it better.
