When I was planning my Griha Pravesh, I was also confused about whether Prathama Tithi is a good day to enter a new house. I wanted everything to be done properly, so I spoke to my family and also consulted a priest before selecting the date.
As I learned, Griha Pravesh can be performed on Prathama Tithi, but the Tithi alone is not enough to decide whether the day is suitable. Other Panchang details, such as the Nakshatra, weekday, Lagna, and Muhurat, are also checked before fixing the ceremony.
In my case, we checked the complete Panchang and selected a suitable Muhurat. The priest explained that if the other factors are favourable, Prathama Tithi can be considered for Griha Pravesh. He also suggested avoiding any unfavourable time and selecting the exact time carefully.
Before the ceremony, we cleaned the house and completed all the basic preparations. On the day of Griha Pravesh, we entered our new home during the selected Muhurat and performed the Puja with our family members. It was a very special and happy moment for all of us.
From my experience, I understood that Prathama Tithi does not automatically mean that Griha Pravesh should be avoided. The complete Panchang should be checked before making the final decision.

For this year, I haven't found any time stating Griha Pravesh on Prathama Tithi is ideal. But you can consult with your Pandit and ask him what would be the best time. Griha Pravesh Pooja is important to maintain the positivity of the house. So, you should always ask your priest rather than fix your date as per your convenience. Happy moving :)
