Visited Kalkere to see my niece’s new apartment. The area looked peaceful, with decent-sized roads and plenty of small trees. Local shops were active, and prices felt reasonable. Not too many branded stores, but basics are covered.
We got a builder-floor unit here to rent out to students. With education hubs not far and decent connectivity, the demand is there. Still waiting for better civic maintenance, but the long-term outlook looks decent.
I invested in a 2BHK flat in Kalkere 4 years back. Prices were modest then, and I’ve seen good appreciation. With more techies shifting towards north and east Bangalore, rental demand is consistent.
Living in Kalkere has worked well for me. I work in Manyata Tech Park, and the commute isn’t bad on a bike. The area is mostly peaceful, with a mix of independent houses and flats. Good local stores and medical clinics are within walking distance.
Bought a small unit here for rental income. The area may not be fully developed, but there’s potential. Schools and hospitals are within reach. My tenant is a young couple working in nearby IT hubs. Roads need better maintenance, but it’s improving.
Been living in Kalkere for almost a decade now. The locality has evolved from a quiet stretch to a well-occupied residential area. I’ve seen new clinics, tuition centres, even a couple of cafes come up. Traffic has gone up too, especially during school hours.
Kalkere is calm and pleasant with decent greenery. there are supermarkets, ATMs and local eateries nearby. Its much quieter than KR Puram
Rental flats are quite affordable here. But the transport is still poor. no metro connectivity, buses are always so crowded and finding autos are harder
It's safe overall but due to poor road condtions and patchy street lighting, late night walks are not possible. Waterlogging is also common
Right now, Kalkere is still in its developing stage. Infrastructure is improving but connectivity is weak and civic issues may need some time to be upgraded. Still its a good bet for long term hold
The vibe is very residential and peaceful. if you love quiet environment, this will be a good option for you. There's not much nightlife buzz here but still its vibrant enough
It is a quiet residential area preferred by families and working professionals looking for affordable housing in East Bangalore.
It is mainly a living area rather than a tourist destination. Some roads may feel busy during office hours.

I’ve been renting here for the last 8 months. Kalkere is not too crowded like central Bangalore, which I appreciate. There's a decent gym, a few parks, and even a small lake nearby. Rent is still reasonable.
