Interior design trends focus on creating stylish, functional, and comfortable living spaces that reflect personal taste. The latest interior design trends highlight warm colour palettes, natural materials, thoughtful lighting, and a balance between modern and timeless elements. These trends move beyond basic aesthetics, emphasizing practicality, sustainability, and character to design homes that feel inviting, expressive, and future-ready.

Interior Colour Trends in 2026

It’s well known that colours play a huge role in our lives; they affect our emotions, concentration, mood, and much more. So when you’re looking for the best colours to use in your house, you might want to look at the interior colour trends for the year – yellow and grey or Ultimate Gray and Illuminating. According to Pantone, these two colours were picked based on the fact that one is a stable steady colour (grey) and the other is promising and optimistic (yellow). When they come together, they balance each other out and tell us that things will be ok now, and will get better soon.

These colours will look great in almost every room in your house. From the living room to the bathroom, these colours balance each other and will certainly add a touch of class to your space.

Less Minimalism and More Warmth

Among the many interior design trends in 2026, we really like the idea of making our homes warmer and inviting and less minimalistic. The latest home design trend is to add layers and have a more casual aesthetic. By adding layers as well as textures to your home you're creating depth and richness which along with it brings warmth and comfort.

Traditional Elements Make a Comeback

While making the move away from the minimalistic style, you’re making space for more elements of decor in your home. We see this space being filled with traditional or regional elements and not so many modern pieces but more traditional tchotchkes, things that would represent your heritage or pieces of local art. Think beautiful yet tasteful locally made handicrafts and art. This design trend is perfect.

Better Lighting and More Table Lighting

Many companies worldwide have asked their employees to work from home for most, and some have made it a permanent ask. With so many people working from home, the need for the hour is better lighting, especially for those endless Zoom calls and hours in front of the laptop. Desk lighting is the latest interior design trend that is sweeping the world. People are focusing on better-looking lamps, and bulbs that don’t hurt the eye. This is quickly replacing wall-mounted lighting and floor lighting.

Personalization

Being home for so many months and not being able to meet or interact with people has made most of us seek other ways to express ourselves. The best way to show others who we are and give them a little peek into our personality is by displaying it so others can see it. One of the new trends in interior design is creating a Zoom nook, a quiet place where you can have your video calls, that is also well dressed up and decorated to show others a bit of your personality. Most homes have this zoom nook done up in colours they love, with fancy artwork, posters or statement pieces in the background. A lot of people even go as far as to create their own artwork to display in the background.

Modern and Rustic

We love the modern home aesthetic for its comfort and versatility, and when we add some rustic elements to it we’re making the space warmer and adding plenty of character to it. The latest interior design trend is to get a good mix of modern and traditional going on without either style drowning out the other. It is one that is hard to resist, it can be easily achieved by balancing old and new pieces, as long as they work together in harmony. You can start with reclaimed wood for this look, choose pieces that are imperfect and show plenty of grain and texture. Choose pieces that show how they have survived the passage of time.

Grand Millennial

If you’re looking for the latest trends in interior design, you must know about the Grand millennial or granny chic" style. This is more about bringing back pieces of furniture that we loved from our grandparents' homes and finding a place from them in our homes. These pieces take us back to a much happier time and place in our lives. These pieces evoke a sense of comfort and tradition in our homes.

Sustainability

The year made us aware of many things that we previously never paid attention to, especially how every purchase has an effect on our ecological footprint. The interior design trend in 2026 will have more people looking at how sustainable their homes are, where the materials are sourced from and how long they will last. Gone are the days when mass-produced goods that have a short shelf life are appreciated. Most people will now rather go without something rather than know their purchase is not sustainable.

Patterned Wallpaper

As we said, the latest home décor trends in 2026 all revolve around greater expression. One of the easiest ways to do this is by dressing up our walls. Since painting is a messy job, many people choose to go with colourful and patterned wallpaper. The new trend is bolder the better, the minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired interiors of previous years are forgotten. Wallpapers at times even go beyond patterns and prints, a new favourite is stick-on mirrors, a great way to infuse light and create the illusion of space in small homes.  Also, check out Wallpaper Design Ideas for Home from here.

Sparking Joy

Like Marie Kondo says, surround yourself with things that spark joy. This year we need to be more appreciative of the good that we have around us. The latest trends in interior design would be to get rid of junk and things that don’t make you happy. Keep things that spark joy and make room for the things you love to do. If you love gardening, then make a small balcony/kitchen garden, if you love to paint, then make a quiet nook for you to paint in.

Natural Materials and Elements

If you have looked at any new interior designs, you’ll see a lot of light wood being used. It is a great natural element to have in the house and a great way to bring in a natural element. The latest home design trends also bring nature into our homes in the shape of plants and living walls, even balconies with grass cover. If you’re looking for a statement piece, you can pick a stylish planter and have lovely plants that go into it. This is one way you can cover two design trends into one.

Neutral Colour Scheme

The simplest way to create a welcoming environment, one that is warm and inviting is by using neutral colours at home. Think of Kanye and Kim Kardashian’s all-white house and all-white interiors, that home does the opposite of making you feel warm! The trend this year is to have furniture and wall colours that are much easier on the eyes and play better on our minds.

If you’re looking to incorporate any of the interior design trends in your home, we suggest you leave it to the experts. Some of the heavy things like changing décor, painting walls and making new furniture should be done by experts alone. You could do more harm than good if you try to do it on your own.

OMG, needed to vent that out 😊. So, we had a terrible experience with another company, cancelled after 2 months of delays, and lost our booking amount. Was feeling pretty low. Then tried NoBroker on a colleague's recommendation. Walked into the HSR center cynical, expecting the worst. But the consultant listened to our story, pointed out where we were overcharged, and came up with a better design at a lower cost. They started work within 10 days and finished in 48 days. Zero drama! Sometimes you need a bad experience to appreciate a good one. NoBroker HSR center restored my faith in the interior industry 👍.

My daughter who is studying architecture in college came with me to the HSR center. She was quizzing the consultant about material sustainability—whether the plywood is from certified sources, if the laminates have low VOC emissions, what happens to waste material from the factory. The consultant handled every question and even pulled up their material certification documents. My daughter was impressed. She told me later: 'Appa, this company actually knows their supply chain, not just their design.' When a 20-year-old architecture student validates your choice, you know you've picked right.

Specifically writing about the false ceiling consultation at the center. I didnt know there was so much to know about ceilings! The designer showed us different options—gypsum board, POP, wooden grid, MDF panels—and explained which works best for which room. The living room got a peripheral cove lighting design with warm LEDs, the bedroom got a simple recessed light plan (she said elaborate ceilings in bedrooms can feel oppressive when your lying down, which makes total sense), and the kids room got a small starlight panel. She also planned all the AC routing, curtain pelmet concealment, and speaker cable channels inside the false ceiling so nothing is visible. The ceiling alone transformed how our rooms feel. Also, their false ceiling pricing per sq ft was pretty competitive—I had checked with two separate contractors before.

I am from Kadugodi and was looking for modular furniture solutions for our new apartment. The NoBroker Varthur experience center had an extensive display of TV units, shoe racks, foyer designs, and partition options. The team helped me plan an open kitchen with a breakfast counter that would double as a partition. Creative and practical solutions! Highly satisfied with the visit.

We visited the NoBroker Varthur center for our villa interior project in Sarjapur Road. The design team was fantastic in understanding our preference for a blend of traditional and contemporary styles. They showed us premium material options including solid wood, veneer, and high-gloss acrylic finishes. The TV unit and crockery unit designs on display were stunning. Highly recommended for villa owners!

This review is from a couple who fights about everything haha. I wanted dark colors and modern look, my husband wanted light wood and earthy tones. The designer at Varthur center literally played mediator. She showed us a concept where the common areas (living room, kitchen) use light wooden textures that my husband likes, and the master bedroom uses the darker charcoal tones that I prefer. The kids room got a neutral palette with colorful accents. Everyone happy. She called it 'transitional design' where different zones have different personalities but connected by a common accent color (we chose teal). The 3D walkthrough she made showed exactly how it all flows together. I showed it to 3 friends and they all said it looks like something out of Architectural Digest. OK maybe I'm exaggerating a little but you get the point. We both love it.

To be honest, I was super skeptical about branded interior services - thought they were just overpriced and overhyped 😊. Had to be dragged to the Horamavu center by a friend. But the moment I saw the quality difference between their factory-made units and the site-built work in my current flat, I was sold! The edge finishing, drawer runners, plywood... everything was top-notch. Machine-pressed edge banding vs hand-applied tape that peels off in 6 months - big difference! Smooth drawer runners, thicker plywood... I went in a skeptic and came out a convert. Guess you need to see and touch things to believe 'em 😁.

We visited the HSR NoBroker experience center for flooring and wall treatment options for our living room. The team showed us various options including wooden flooring, vitrified tiles, and designer wall panels. They explained the pros and cons of each option for Bangalore's climate. The combination of textured wall panels with warm lighting they suggested transformed our visualization completely.

We are from Thanisandra and visited the center for our villa interior project. The designer adapted her approach for a larger independent house—didn't just scale up apartment designs. She proposed separate design personalities for ground floor (where guests are entertained—formal, elegant) and first floor (private family spaces—warm, casual). The staircase got under-staircase pull-out storage that holds 30 pairs of shoes. The double-height living room got a dramatic false ceiling with a chandelier recess. The master bedroom got a walk-in closet design instead of a regular wardrobe. Villa interiors need different thinking than apartment interiors and this team clearly has experience with both formats.

I had a great experience with NoBroker Interiors at the HRBR Experience Centre. The entire process was smooth and well-managed. Pradnyan (Designer) did an excellent job in understanding our requirements and providing thoughtful design solutions. Unnav from Sales was very supportive and ensured everything was clearly explained and well-coordinated throughout the process. Hetal also gave a detailed explanation, making it easy for us to understand every aspect. Overall, the team was professional, responsive, and helpful. Looking forward to moving ahead with them!

As a working professional with limited time to manage contractors, the project management aspect is what attracted me. Visited the center with a Pinterest board of 47 saved kitchen images. The consultant didn’t get overwhelmed. She patiently went through each one, identified common elements I was drawn to (handleless cabinets, wooden textures, open shelving), and created a unified design that captured the essence of all those pins. She basically translated my chaotic Pinterest board into a cohesive design. Overall we are very satisfied with the entire experience from start to finish.
