Who can open NRE account ?

Hey there, I will be moving abroad quite soon. To make sure, I can support my family and loved ones with cash. I did some research. I got to know who can open nre account. There is a certain eligibility criteria that needs to be followed. In case you have any extra questions, concerns confirm with a bank or your choice or put them in the NoBroker Forum platform. Individuals that have been approved by the Reserve Bank of India can open an NRE account for ease.

Other than that, there are some other criteria:

Indian residents that have gone abroad for employment,business, vocation or any other circumstances can open an NRE account.

A person who was born in India can open an NRE account. PIO or Overseas Citizens of India are also applicable to this.

Crew members that are of Indian origin that are based at foreign destinations, ports and residing abroad.

Students who have gone abroad to get a degree or continue their higher education can open a NRE account with their student ID.

NRE account can be opened by Indian nationals who have been posted abroad to work with foregn Government and International agencies i.e. UNO etc.
