I recently renovated my house, and I put a few paintings up on my South walls, including a Lord Buddha painting. When my uncle visited me, he suggested me to take that off as it was inappropriate as per Vastu. So, I asked him about the best painting for South wall as per Vastu. Here is what he told me.

According to my uncle, the south wall is associated with the element of fire and signifies power, energy, and transformation. Here is what is recommended for me to do.
  • Uncle said that the best painting for South wall is something that depicts nature. It can also be an artwork that depicts the sun and its flames. According to him, this will help in bringing in the energy of fire. 
  • He also mentioned that the South wall of the house can be used to hang clocks. He told me that this symbolises progress and movement. 
  • My uncle also told me that I can hang mirrors on the South wall as they can reflect light and energy. He told me to ensure that the mirror doesn't reflect any negative objects. 
  • He said that painting for South wall Vastu suggests that, one should avoid hanging pictures of god or family members.
