When is Vishwakarma puja?

Vishwakarma Puja or Vishwakarma Jayanti or Vishwakarma Day is devoted to Lord Vishwakarma, who is considered the designer of the world. He also created various weapons for Gods. There is a statue of Vishwakarma installed in my workplace around which all the workers gather to perform the puja.

Vishwakarma Day falls on 17 September 2022 (Saturday). It is a restricted holiday in 2022.

As per the Gregorian calendar, Vishwakarma Day falls on 17 or 16 September every year. On this day, people celebrate Lord Vishwakarma’s birth anniversary. This festival is mainly celebrated by factory workers, industrial workers, welders, smiths, mechanics, craftsmen, artisans, the architectural community, engineers, etc.

In Rig Veda, Lord Vishwakarma is specified as a divine carpenter and is credited with Sthapatya Veda, the science of architecture and mechanics.

• On this auspicious day, special prayers and pujas are performed in workplaces, factories, and offices. These places are beautifully decorated with flowers for this festival.

• Lord Vishwakarma’s idol is placed in decorative pandals and he is worshipped by devotees.

• Workers worship their tools on this day and the entire environment is frolic and entertaining.

• On Vishwakarma

  day, owners and workers prepare and eat a gourmet feast.
