The carpet area usually includes anything inside the outer walls of the apartment excluding the balconies, verandah, wall thickness, flower beds, open terrace and shafts. But RERA carpet area includes everything covered by the internal walls of the apartment including the net usable area. You can calculate the carpet area if you know the built-up area of your property. Ask the property owner about the built-up area of the property and you will know the usable area too. As per the guidelines RERA made it mandatory to disclose the carpet area when a buyer is thinking about purchasing a property. Therefore, you can ask the builders about the carpet area and they will share with you the accurate measurement of the property.
