What is Vaastu ?

Vaastu is an ancient Indian method of designing a home by considering orientations, room arrangements, area, and the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and space). I discovered Vaastu while examining house designs and understood it involves more than just the direction of the main entrance. It may also encompass the kitchen, bedroom, puja room, and arrangement of furniture, as well as elements such as natural light and airflow.

What does Vaastu Mean for a Normal Home?

1. Front entrance: The orientation and precise location are taken into account.

2. Kitchen: It is often recommended to place the kitchen in the southeast due to its association with the fire element.

3. Bedroom: You must consider the location of the bedroom and the orientation in which you sleep.

4. Puja room: According to many Vaastu guidelines, the northeast is typically favoured.

5. Living room: The arrangement, furniture layout, and natural illumination can also be taken into account.

6. Space and airflow: You must maintain an open, tidy, and well-ventilated house, as it is a practical aspect of designing a cosy home.

I was initially confused by the notion that a house facing north or east is simply a Vaastu house. That is not necessarily how all Vaastu systems look at it. There are certain guidelines you must also take into account: the precise entry location and the overall design of the flat. I hope you understand what is Vaastu.

Hey friend,

How many times have you wondered what is Vaastu? How does Vastu impact your personal and home life? Is it based on science? What are the different elements of Vastu? Fret not, I will be answering all these questions and further help you understand the world of Vastu Shastra. Take a look below to know more :

The literal translation of the term vāstu is a dwelling or house with a corresponding plot of land. You can further understand it by looking at the dictionary meaning: the site or foundation of a house, site, ground, building or dwelling-place, habitation, homestead, house.Vastu Shastra is related to the place where we live, and reside. It is based on the scientific concept that looks at 5 elements.

The principles of Vastu are integrated with architecture. This ancient science aims to boost health, wealth, energy, and prosperity and make the living or working atmosphere serene and enlightened.

In short, it is an ancient Indian science that dedicates rules of construction and placement of the home. Now that you know what is Vaastu. You should know the elements on which Vastu depends. They are earth, water, fire, air, and sky. All the elements are combined in a balance to create a harmonious setting.

A house that is set according to Vastu will have an impact on the residents. If your place complies with Vastu techniques the atmosphere of the house will be happy and contented. On the other hand, without Vastu, your house may be filled with negative energy.

This is all from my end on what is Vastu for home.
