For double-hung windows, the carpenter said, an ideal size would be 28” x 54”. Their ability to open from both top and bottom makes them a better option for airflow control, ultimately providing proper ventilation.
For the main entrance doors, the carpenter suggested a dimension of
3 feet wide and 7 feet high. He also said the dimensions may vary depending on the type of windows and doors. Since a few answers have mentioned them , I’d like to give a brief of what the carpenter suggested.
Single hung windows: 28” x 54”
Casement windows: 30” x 48”
Sliding windows: 36” x 24”
