How to measure bed size?

There are numerous reasons to determine the size of your bed, whether you're changing furniture or purchasing a new mattress. If you're going to a new location,  I think you'll probably need to determine the measurements of your bed and mattress before you can put any furniture in the bedroom. If your bed has been made up, the dimensions may be required before purchasing fresh linens or a mattress. Let’s see how to measure bed size.

Guide on how to measure a bed size:

1) Take Dimensions

Examine the bed's largest measurements and make sure it will fit nicely in the place you wish to put it. Along both sides of the bed and at its foot, you should have at least 65cm of walking room. Measure the measurements of the bed you want to buy with sticky tape to see how much room it will actually take and how simply you can walk around it.

2) Examine Your Spaces

You have to confirm there's sufficient room around your bed and don't neglect to factor in doors, cupboards, and cabinets to confirm your new bed won't obstruct any of them while they're entirely open. If you're buying a bed with storage drawers, you'll want a least 50cm on each side to take out the drawers.

3) Examine Your Home 

Ensure that the bed will pass through all of your entrances and up the steps without harming your paint, wall hangings, or windows by using the bed's maximum measurements. Keep in mind that most luxury and tough mattresses are very thick, and must not be twisted or bent. The lowest normal distance between the wall and the next level must be measured for stairways.

How do you measure a bed?

If you want your bed cover to drop to the ground, add an extra dimension from the top of the bed to the ground and add it to the overall dimension. Also, keep in mind that the bedspread must fall on both sides. Usually, bed sheets are wide which indicates they will cover anything up to 14 inches in depth, regardless of whether your mattress is regular height/deep or more. Normal size mattresses can utilise the same sheets, but they will require additional folding under the mattress cover.
