ECS stands for Electronic Clearing Service, a mode of payment or receipt of transactions that happens repeatedly and is periodic in nature. RBI has clearly stated that to stop the ECS mandate, a person has to approach the institution and request to withdraw the mandate. I did not find any online process to cancel it hence had to visit my HDFC bank and request the officials to cancel the mandate. You can call on your bank’s customer service number and request them there. You will be requested to provide some details like
Name
Registered number with bank account
Reason and application to cancel the ECS mandate
