2) States/UTs/Urban Local Bodies (ULBs)/Central Government Agencies are eligible for financial support under this programme.
3) The Affordable Housing in Partnership, a component of the Rajiv Awas Yojana, provides financial assistance for the construction of smart affordable homes through public-private partnerships.
4) The Central Government gives financial support of Rs.75,0000 per Economically Weaker Section/ Low Income Group for Dwelling Units of 21 to 40 sq. mt. under the affordable housing in the partnership programme.
Types of Rajiv Gandhi Awas Yojana Scheme:
1) If you are living in the cities or urban areas with a population of 5 lakhs or more, then you are included in this category A.
2) If you are living in cities or urban megacities having a population of less than 5 lakh, then you are included in category B.
3) If you are living in cities or urban areas in the North Eastern Region, as well as special category states, then you are included in category C. (Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand).
Eligibility criteria for the scheme:
1) This scheme is open to all of the recipients indicated in the preceding part.
2) This programme covers both rental and housing costs.
3) Affordable Housing in Partnership, a component of Rajiv Awas Yojana, is open to projects with a minimum of 250 residential properties.
4) It is to integrate all slums and poor neighbourhoods under a legal settlement plan and help them find basic services that are readily available to the rest of the city's population.
