What is PCM rent?

The term PCM stands for per month rent. I came across this term when I checked out my rental agreement. So, what is PCM rent mean? It means the amount of rent you are supposed to pay every month. So, the PCM in rent agreement answers important questions such as:

• How much is your rent each month?

• What bills does your PCM rent include?

• What day of the month is your rent due?

• How would your landlord like to be paid each month?

PCM also determines the size, condition, and features of the property in a location. For example, if you are looking for a 2 BHK house in Bangalore to rent, then the rental charges can be around Rs. 20k to 25k approximately. But in Kolkata, the average rental charges of a 2BHK house can be anywhere between Rs 10k to 15k. The per-month calendar helps to understand these things in detail. 

PCM can be determined from another perspective. PCM agreements can be made for rooms, houses, flats, garages, office space, furniture and more. So, the rental agreement mentions the PCM of each month that you are supposed to pay. PCM rent can also include charges such as water, gas, electricity bill,  maintenance charges, etc. This is another what is the meaning of PCM in rent.        

Since I am discussing what is PCM in rent, I will also share what is PW as well.

PW is just like PCM. The full form of PW is per week. Much like the PCM rental agreement, PW denotes that you may need to pay the rent on a regular basis, but instead of a month, it is a week.
