Hi there,I can proudly say that I am an environmentalist. Having said that, I must also confess that I had dreaded pest problems at my home and my farm for ages. But all of the pest control methods mostly harm the environment to a great extent, not to forget they are very risky for people living in the area being pest controlled as well. So, I knew I had to look for another solution for controlling pests at my farm and it was then that I came to know about the Integrated Pest Control system. Now you may want to know, what is integrated pest control? And I would love to tell you about it and contribute my bit to protecting the environment.So, an integrated pest control system is a method that is used to control pests and solve all pest-related issues with minimum or no harm to the people and the environment. And the best part about it is that this process can be used to control pests not only in urban areas but also in rural, wildland, and natural areas.It is an ecosystem-based method that serves the purpose of preventing and eradicating pest problems in the long term. The integrated pest control method makes use of processes like habitat manipulation, biological control, the use of a resistant variety of pests, and changes in cultural practices.What is meant by Pest Control Management and its Working?Pest control management is done by preventing pests and the damage caused by them through proper management of the ecosystem. This is done by analyzing the environmental factors which propel the growth of pests and then working on solutions that prove to be unfavorable for the growth and spread of such pests.Integrated Pest Control is done by keeping the following component in mind;
Identifying the type of pests
Assessing the number of pests and the damage caused by them
Analysing the guidelines for integrating pest control
Using a combination of cultural, physical, biological, chemical, and mechanical tools to prevent the pest growth
