What Documents are Required to Open a Bank Account?

I was planning to open another bank account, but I didn't know which bank documents were needed for that. So, I called a friend of mine who works at ICICI Bank and asked him what documents are required to open a bank account. Here is what he told me about opening an account in ICICI Bank. 

What Documents are Needed to Open a Bank Account?

He told me that opening a bank account in ICICI bank is easy, and here are the documents that he mentioned about 

• Valid passport. 

• Aadhaar card.

• Valid Permanent Driving License 

• Voter ID Card

• NREGA Job Card

• Letter from the National Population Register.

Following that, I asked him about PAN, as he had not mentioned it in the list. He told me that the PAN Card issued in India is no longer considered a valid identity proof.

After he told me about what paperwork is needed to open a bank account, he also told me about the steps that I need to follow to open an account. Here is how.

• After that, he asked me to click on the Accounts section from the homepage. 

• Followed by clicking on Saving Accounts and again the same on the next screen. 

• Then he asked me to choose a suitable profile and click on Proceed. 

• Finally, I was asked to enter my Mobile number, PAN number, and Date of birth. 

After that, he told me to add funds to the account and keep the PAN card ready for video KYC. 

That is all he told me about what documents are required to open a Bank account.
