Tenants may also submit PAN or alternative identity proof depending on local rules.
Additional identity documents like a passport, a voter ID, or a driving licence can be accepted as substitutes if Aadhaar is unavailable.
Along with identity proof, both parties must provide address proof. It includes utility bills, bank statements, or official documents showing their current residence.
Property-related documents are also essential for completing a biometric rent agreement.
The landlord must submit proof of ownership, such as a registered sale deed, property tax receipt, or electricity bill linked to the property.
These documents confirm that the property being rented is legally owned and eligible for leasing.
In addition, passport-size photographs of the landlord, tenant, and witnesses are commonly required, along with details of at least two witnesses who must also provide their Aadhaar or identity proof for biometric verification.
