3 Common Types of Cardboard Packaging

1. Folding Cartons:

   Also referred to as paperboard cartons or boxes. 

2. They are fragile and thin. 

3. One layer of paperboard is used to make them. 

4. Appropriate for consumer goods such as packaging for cosmetics or cereal boxes.

5. Rigid Boxes:

   They're also known as setup boxes. 

6. They are robust and long-lasting. 

7. Not foldable and are composed of thick paperboard. 

8. Offers a solution for protective packaging. 

9. Used to package expensive goods, including jewels, electronics, and luxury goods.

10. Corrugated Boxes:

    You can also call them shipper boxes, cardboard boxes, and corrugated fiberboard. 

11. Comprises layers of linerboard sandwiched between fluted paper (the "corrugation"). 

12. They are robust and adaptable. 

13. Come in several varieties of flutes, such as A, B, C, E, and F. 

14. For instance, when you move to a new home, you would use what are popularly called brown cardboard boxes to pack your goods. This box is called a corrugated box.

Good quality boards are absolutely necessary when you are moving. These boxes keep your goods secure. But not all boxes can do that. 1. Corrugated Fiberboard: These cardboard boxes are quite common and are made with a wavy, fluted corrugation layer between two other flat layers of cardboard. These can be used for moving goods as these have quite a high-strength to weight ratio. 

2. Double-Wall Board: These boards add an extra layer of fluting between the two outermost layers. They offer an extra level of protection to the goods stored inside and are quite resilient. 

3. Triple-Wall Board: They are very strong and are best for moving heavy objects like automotive parts, etc. This cardboard contains 3 layers of fluting in between the two outside walls.

• As I was looking online, first, I saw regular slotted containers (RSC), the most common type. Books and other general stuff fit perfectly in these boxes. They are ideal for moving because they are simple to put together and stack nicely. 

• I also discovered double-walled boxes, which are more sturdy and ideal for larger and heavier objects like kitchen equipment or delicate decor. When I was packing my glassware, I liked how sturdy they were and the protection they offered.

• I also noticed wardrobe boxes which have a hanging rod built right in. I could transport my clothes into these without folding a lot or wrinkling them. It saved me some time in ironing once I got to my new house and protected some delicate clothes.

• And lastly, there were specialised boxes made for particular things, such as cushioned electronics boxes or dish packs for breakable dishes.
