While constructing my house, I was introduced to GFRG panels by my house architect. He said that GFRG panels are an appealing option as they provide strength, beauty, and versatility. But, I knew that there would be certain GFRG panels disadvantages, just like with any other building material, so I should be aware of them before choosing to use this product to build my house.

On enquiring about the disadvantages from the architect, I got to know about these 3;
Fragility:
GFRG panels can be more fragile than other materials, despite their outstanding strength. To prevent damage, careful handling is essential during installation and transportation.
Moisture sensitivity:
Gypsum's susceptibility to moisture degradation is evident. Water exposure over time can weaken GFRG panels if they are not adequately protected.
Cost:
Due to specific production techniques and the addition of glass fibres, the initial cost of GFRG panels may be higher than that of typical materials.
After learning these 3 disadvantages, I focussed on its advantages like;
Fire resistance
Design flexibility
Swift installation
Have good acoustic and thermal insulation properties
So after going through both the pros and cons, I finally decided to opt for GFRG to build my home.
