Last August, I moved into a society in Shivaji Nagar. Before moving, I wasn’t aware of the maintenance charges and that the tenant had to pay them. A month after staying there, I came to know that I have to pay maintenance charges of Rs. 2,637 every month. To know if that was the proper charge or not, I started doing some research.
What is the Society Maintenance Cost of 2BHK in Shivaji Nagar?
After my research, I learned that there are three ranges of maintenance charges, and they are
Basic Charges: These charges are for basic services like security, garbage collection, etc. They are somewhere between Rs. 2 to Rs. 5 per sq. ft. per month.
Mid-Range Charges: These are for communities that have amenities such as a swimming pool, gym, etc. These charges are around Rs. 5 to Rs. 10 per sq. ft. per month.
Luxury Charges: These charges are for communities that have concierge services, spa facilities, etc facilities available in them. These charges can easily exceed Rs. 10 or sometimes even go up to Rs. 20. Per sq. ft. per month.
This is all I found out. I have also learned that the maintenance charges per sq. ft. in my society are around Rs. 3. And that’s all. Hope you find this helpful.
