Hi there,

Well, when it comes to the ancestral property then you should remember that the property should not be divided by any members for four generations. If the property is divided, you cannot consider it ancestral property.

When it comes to rights, you can sell the land. But you have to take consent from everyone in the family. Will also plays an important role in ancestral property. If the grandfather has already made a Will and made someone the land owner, it can be considered legal. But again you can challenge the Will in the Court.  I hope you find this informative.
