We are NRI residents of the UK and have a property in Jalandhar and have rented out our one room and the upstairs lobby to our tenants for 17 years with each year renewing the tenant agreement. Last year we gave them 10 months’ notice to vacate the tenancy and now after 15 months, they have filed a false case that we tried to forcibly remove them from our property. Can they claim ownership of my property by law?
