There are several options in between Hebbal and the World Trade Center. However, to reach the World Trade Center, you will need to change 2 buses in most of the cases. So, here are three options that will be almost half way from Hebbal and your workplace. Also, these localities are quite affordable in terms of rent.
a. Mathikere
Mathikere is the best choice as it is 5 km from Hebbal and 4 km from WTC. By taking the public bus, you can reach your office in 40-45 mins while your wife would need approximately 30 mins to reach her office. You can expect a 1 BHK rent in Mathikere to start around 7-8K. Mostly, the properties you will find to rent are either in a standalone building or an independent house.
b. RT Nagar
Next option would be RT Nagar as it is more or less the same distance from Hebbal as well as WTC. It would take around 35 minutes to reach Hebbal whereas you can reach WTC by bus in 40 minutes from Mekhri Circle. You can rent out a 1 BHK flat in RT Nagar for less than 10K per month.
c. Sanjay Nagar
From Sanjay Nagar, WTC is 30-45 minutes but the problem is you need to change 2-3 buses to reach your office as there is no direct bus to that area. On the other hand, your wife can reach Hebbal in 30 minutes from Sanjay Nagar. The rent for a 1 BHK flat in Sanjay Nagar can be anywhere around 10-12K per month.

I'll be joining a new job and my workplace will be in World Trade Center, Brigade Gateway and my wife's office is in Manyata Tech Park,Hebbal. Which are good places to stay between Hebbal and Brigade Gateway and have good public transport option.
