And after the work starts, do designers usually help with vendor coordination and site supervision also, or is that considered extra? Just trying to understand what’s normally included vs what people assume is included and later fight about.
How Do Homeowners Avoid Getting Stuck with Abandoned Interior Projects in the Middle of Execution?
We’re planning a complete interior work, and one thing I’m worried about is miscommunication during execution, like I’ve seen this happen in relatives’ homes. where the contractor says one thing, the carpenter does another, the electrician wasn’t informed properly, etc., and then everything becomes messy on-site. So I’m trying to understand what role the interior designer actually plays during execution. Can they help contractors work from clearer drawings and proper finish schedules so there’s less confusion overall?
Honestly, I don’t mind paying a designer if it genuinely makes execution smoother, but I’m not sure what level of detailing they usually provide. Like, do designers normally give proper technical drawings for electrical points, dimensions, materials, finishes, etc., or is that only with bigger firms/projects? 
If detailed interior drawings are given, does that actually reduce mistakes and random onsite decisions? Because I really don’t want to keep supervising every tiny thing personally once the work starts.
