I recently wallpapered my living room wall, so, let me tell you how to wallpaper inside corners. Start with aligning the pattern, mark the direction, measure the corner distance, mark and cut the wallpaper, and cut the strip, and then continue with the next steps. To make it easier for you to understand, I have shared the complete step-by-step guide below so you can get a clear idea.

How to End Wallpaper on an Inside Corner?

  1. When wallpapering inside corners, first align the new strip with the previous one and mark the direction so all strips hang the same way.

  2. Measure the distance from the corner to the edge at both top and bottom, and use the larger measurement.

  3. Fold the strip, mark it, and add 1 cm to the length to wrap around the corner.

  4. Cut along the line and keep the leftover piece.

  5. Apply the paste or wallpaper adhesive, neatly fix the first strip, and smooth it well in the corner.

  6. Then use the leftover piece, align it straight using a plumb line, overlap slightly, match the pattern, smooth out bubbles, and repeat the same for the next corner.

This is how you have to do it, but I personally suggest getting it done by a professional to achieve a proper and smooth finish.

Hey, I decided to opt for a DIY process of applying wallpaper in my bedroom to give it a new look. So, I decided to install the wallpaper with the help of a friend who works as an interior designer. It was okay till I reached the inside corner of the wall as I did not know at the time how to wallpaper inside corners. Luckily, my friend helped me out and we were able to get a clean finish around the corner. Let me share the steps.

How to Apply Wallpaper to an Inside Corner?

  1. Measure the distance from the edge of the last wallpaper piece you applied to the corner. Do so for multiple points like top, middle and bottom as you move down the wall. Add 15mm to the measurement at the widest point and keep it handy with you.

  2. Take your wallpaper, mark the measurement (widest point plus 15mm) you took and cut to this size (width). When you apply this piece, the wallpaper will be wrapped around the corner to the next wall by around 15mm.

  3. Cut and paste the piece. Apply it as you usually would and smoothen the paper around the corner onto the adjacent wall. It’ll become easier for you to wrap around the corner if you make a cut in the paper at the ceiling and skirting board.

  4. If you notice a crease formatting as you push the wallpaper into the corner, make a little cut in the paper at the crease and push again.

  5. You can then continue to paste the next pieces of wallpaper. Make sure you match the pattern of the previous strip.

This is all about how to end wallpaper on an inside corner. I hope this helps.
