Hi,

Since Diwali is coming I love decorating my house with colourful papers. I always light up my house to enjoy the festival. I love decorating my house with candles, diyas, and fairy lights. I make Diyas with bright colored paper and stick paper on wall to decorate. But the problem I faced over years is that the paper left permanent stains after I glued it to the wall. We paint our homes every year just before Diwali so when I see those stains I get a little mad. I stopped decorating with paper for this reason but when my friend visited my house she asked me "why didn't you decorate your house with paper?" I told her my situation and asked her how to stick paper on wall . She recommended some good tips that I am going to follow this year. I have applied these tips before during my mother's birthday and the paper did not leave any stains after applying her tips!

How to stick paper on wall without damaging paint?

Use sellotape instead of glue:

Sellotape is a better option than glue. Pasting paper with glue leaves permanent stains on the wall. It is hard to remove them. So, I use sellotape as an alternative to decorate my wall.

Hang the decorated papers:

Take a piece of rope and hang pictures or papers you like. If you have nails on both sides of the wall you can attach the rope. For my mother's birthday, I have printed some pictures of her on paper and decorated her room with them. I did bring back happy memories! You can hammer a nail if you like my idea.

Velcro Tape

Velcro tape or hook and fasten tape is also a good option to hang or decorate your wall. Buy velcro tape with a strong adhesive to decorate your wall and make it look pretty!

I hope you liked my answer on how to stick paper on wall without damaging paint.

I love decorating the house on occasions but had almost given up decorating the walls since it often damaged the wall paint. Previously we used glue to stick things on walls but when we put the decorations down, the stickiness remained and the dust and dirt got embedded on it making the paint look awful. One of my friends however gave me several ideas which not only let me decorate my house whole-heartedly, but also will not damage the paint. Here I will share some materials that you all too can use to

During the last summer break, I assisted my daughter to hang posters and pictures on walls. It is a fun approach to make an area for working or living more unique. However, some fixative chemicals have the potential to rip or shred the paint or other wall coverings, leaving unattractive holes when they are removed. As a result before hanging posters, I started learning about how to paste paper on wall without damaging.

How to stick paper on wall without leaving marks?

Shanon and Rashmi’s answers helped me a lot with my query of how to stick stuff to walls without ruining paint. However, I discovered a few more ways that I want to share with you all;

  • Hook and Wire from Ceiling Molding:

This is a traditional way to hang art. It's a wonderful alternative if you want a temporary fix and it works well for hanging heavier pieces of art.

  • Deco magnets:

Instead of utilising frames, deco magnets can be used to hang your wall art. You might be able to save some money by choosing this option.

A magnet is placed on the wall and one is placed on the poster. There you go! When you wish to modify it you will need to take the existing poster down and replace it with a new one. This is excellent for tenants who don't want to damage their walls and forfeit their security deposits.

  • Magnetic Paint:

The only difference between conventional paint and magnetic paint or primer is the addition of minute iron particles. It produces a black primer with several microscopic iron flecks dispersed throughout when painted on a wall. Magnets (and the posters, photos, and other items they hold) are drawn to these pieces of iron.

  • Sticky Notes and Restickable Glue Stick:

Sticky notes and restickable glue sticks are a great way to hold paper on the wall without tape or nails.

I’d like to conclude here as I believe this suffices your query about how to paste paper on wall without damaging. I hope this helps:)

Here are all the ways through which you can protect your walls even after sticking paper on them.

  • Adhesive Strips:

You can use rubber bumpers, which are available online. These work as a great adhesive to secure your walls while you stick papers, hang frames, etc. You need to place a rubber bumper on each corner of the back of the paper or frame and then affix them to the wall.

This is another great adhesive, which is mainly used for hanging posters but can work in other areas as well.

  • Masking Tape:

This works well as a temporary way to stick paper on your walls. It is made of a thin, paper-like material. It can be removed easily, so there is no hassle in removing the paper when needed.
