Two months ago, I faced this issue and asked a friend who owns a tile shop for advice on how to remove soap stains from tiles. He suggested several methods, but the one I liked the most was mixing 10% bleach with 90% water. You spray the solution on the floor, leave it for some time, and then scrub with a brush. This method removes most stains from bathroom tiles. He also shared some techniques to clean tile soup scum.

How to Get Soap Scum Off Tile?

These are the steps that I learned from my friend about cleaning soap scum off tiles

Baking Soda

  1. Take one cup of baking soda and mix it with ¼ cup of white vinegar.

  2. Spray the solution on areas with soap scum on the tiles.

  3. Let it sit for 15 minutes.

  4. Use a brush to scrub the tiles thoroughly.

White Vinegar

  1. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water.

  2. Spray the solution on the tiles.

  3. Wait for a few minutes.

  4. Scrub the tiles with a brush to remove the stains.

So if you are worried and want to know how to clean years of soap scum off tile, you can go through these steps. However, from my experience, I can say that for cleaning tiles, a mixture of baking soda and white vinegar is one of the best methods to remove soap stains.
