5. Next, wrap the oven in packing paper and then a generous layer of bubble wrap.

6. Apply packing tape to the wrapping to keep it in place.

7. Take a sturdy box or if you have the original box in which the box came, better. 

8. Place the appliance gently into the microwave, right side up, into the box. 

9. Fill the box with packing peanuts to add cushioning. 

10. Close the box and ensure the bottom side is taped very well and the top as well. Mark the top of the box and label it.

• Try the "shake test" by lifting the box and giving it a little shake to see whether the microwave oven is moving. If the answer is no, then you've done an excellent job and can close the box. If so, stuff the cardboard container's sides with more padding.

• Tape the box by tucking the container's flaps closed and sealing it with packing tape.

• Label the box with the words "MICROWAVE" and "KITCHEN". This is done to inform the person handling the box that its contents are breakable.
