Making a window cornice is a do-it-yourself remodelling project. Let me tell you first that I was working on cornice panels for my bathroom window when I published an article on making a window cornice.

Consult designers from NoBroker to design the window cornice in the best way. Hire carpenters from NoBroker to make a window cornice in your home.

Material to make window cornice design:

  • Insulation panel or foam panel

  • Ruler, measuring tape, and pencils

  • Projector (not necessary)

  • Multipurpose knife and duct tape

  • A stapler

  • Cloth

  • Hot adhesive and an adhesive machine

  • Hooks for large pictures

Window cornice ideas to make one:

1) Collect Resources

You need to collect your resources and assistants to get help first. I had two of my cousins help me throughout the procedure. It undoubtedly made the procedure take less time.

2) Choose Style and Dimensions

Choose your wall frame's style and take dimensions, then draw them on your board. I inspected my window to calculate the size of my wall frame. Then, with my projector, I projected a picture of a wall frame that I took from my laptop onto my board and sketched around it. My projector is my best asset, and if you work on a lot of tasks at home, I strongly suggest investing in one. You'll need to conduct some calculations to choose the layout for your board if you don't have a projector.

3) Trim and Attach

Trim and attach your cornice's sides with tape. I used my kitchen knife to trim my board, but you could also use a sharp blade. I taped the sides of my box using duct tape. This is one of the main factors in how to make a window cornice.

4) Wrap the Cornice

Now you need to fill and cloth your cornice and attach it in position. The hardest part of this assignment is navigating corners. Continue to assess how your cornice looks from the front to determine whether you need to draw the cloth more or less tightly to achieve a wrinkle-free appearance. I wrapped them with duct tape for a neater appearance and to make sure that none of my staples came loose from the foam board.

5) Hang the Frame

Hang your frame by attaching hooks to either corner. I used a marker to outline where my nail should go above each window while holding my completed frame up to the windows. I attached my cornice to the wall with two screws. I adore how they worked together, and I adore how simple it was to create and place them on the walls far more.

Now you can make a window cornice in your home with this guide.
