Let me help you with how to install a ductless air conditioner. We recently got a ductless AC installed in our living room and the process was something like this:

1. Mount your indoor unit high on an exterior wall (at least 6-7 feet up). You want a spot with clear airflow where the unit can see the whole room.

2. Screw the mounting bracket into the wall. Use a level for this because if the unit is tilted, the condensation won't drain and you’ll end up with a waterfall in your room.

3. You’ll need to drill a 2.5 to 3 inch hole through the wall, angling it slightly downward toward the outside to help with drainage.

4. Carefully bundle the refrigerant pipes, electrical wires, and drain hose together. Slide them through the hole to the outside.

5. Place the compressor on a concrete pad or a wall bracket. Ensure it has plenty of space around it to breathe.

6. Connect the refrigerant lines and wiring to both units. 

7. Before turning on the AC, use a vacuum pump to remove air and moisture from the lines. This keeps the system efficient and prevents damage.

1. Mount the evaporator inside the room and exterior wall away from direct sunlight and doorways.

2. Mark the locations for studs and fasten the bracket to them with screws.

3. Ensure that the line set holes slope slightly downward to the outside so that the condensate from the evaporator can drain outside.

4. After this, go outside and ensure no trim or other obstructions complicate drilling the hole.

5. Use a hole saw to cut the hole from the inside, move aside any insulation and inspect the wall cavity for obstructions. Finish the hole by drilling from the outside.

6. Uncoil the line set from the evaporator’s back carefully. Then, feed the line set through the hole with a person standing outside.

7. As the line set emerges out, the other person has to gently bend it downward and to the side as needed to reach the condenser.

8. Keep the rigid plastic collar surrounding the line set at the end that connects to the condenser.

9. The drain line is shorter and goes below the other lines at last.

10.  After this, add the drain extension and wrap the joint with electrical tape to keep it secure.

11. Wrap the foam sleeve around the line set section within the hole and replace any insulation in the wall cavity that was disturbed. After this, hang the evaporator on the mounting bracket.

12. On the outside, insert the two piece plastic trim into the hole. 

13. Install the condenser, connect the refrigerant lines and finish by covering the line set.
