When it comes to adhesive selection, it's always a good idea to get advice from the glue maker on which adhesive is best for the job. There are highly specialised adhesives available for a variety of uses today, including wood, laminate, metal, ACP, PVC, Acrylic, glass, and plastic. There are also specialist adhesives for an industrial-grade, spot fixes, quick setting, water-resistant, heat-resistant, and a variety of other common features.

• Working on polluted surfaces should be avoided

It's also crucial to evaluate the moisture content of the substrate, which should be less than 10%.

Also, because the glue is the most important component in Sunmica installation, make sure to use high-quality adhesive

3. On all surfaces, at least two coats of adhesive are recommended. However, it is also critical to guarantee proper application depending on the adhesive's specifications and recommendations

4. Allow enough open time before pasting laminates to get a complete initial grip and bond strength

5. Working on the product's edges and sanded surface requires extra caution because they are more porous

• In high-humidity environments, Sunmica installation is not recommended

Adhesive failure is more likely in environments with high pH, humidity, and carbon dioxide levels. Adhesive curing is more likely to be affected by these conditions, which slows down the process. The strength of the adhesion is heavily influenced by the surrounding environment. As a result, a laminate installation test on a small surface area using Fevicol is required. As a result, utilising a moisture metre to evaluate the moisture level of the surface is critical.

• Apply a generous amount of glue to both surfaces to ensure a strong binding

• Use a moist cloth to wipe the surface or sanding paper to smooth it out. Once the surfaces are ready for bonding, evenly apply one or two coats of adhesive (as needed). Ensure that the suitable adhesive is applied to the whole surface of both products. Apply the right amount of glue according to the adhesive guidelines' recommendations. An additional layer will strengthen the bond and prevent the risk of adhesive failure or a non-uniform finish.

• Now adhere the two surfaces together to form a seal. To seal the bond, apply pressure to the surface and wait for it to dry. Viola! You've completed your task.

• I next applied the adhesive evenly, being careful not to use too much since this could cause the mica to bubble or warp. 

• I then gently positioned the mica sheet onto the plywood surface, working my way from one corner to the other. 

• I did as instructed, smoothing away any air bubbles with a clean cloth or a roller. I made sure the sheet was securely attached to the board.

• Finally, I gave the adhesive a full night to dry.
