Use a pipe, cable, and stud detector to make sure there aren't any concealed pipes or cables behind the wall. Sweeping, slow motions are best for covering the area you wish to drill into.
Place the mirror against the wall. Check the level of the mirror with a spirit level and mark the locations of the fastening points with a pencil.
