How to Make Corrections Online on TRACES Portal?
To begin the process, registration on the TRACES portal is mandatory. It requires providing details like TAN, PAN, and a valid Digital Signature Certificate (DSC). Once registered, follow you can these steps:
Log in to the
TRACES portalusing your User ID, password, and TAN.
Navigate to the “Defaults” section and select “Request for Correction.”
Enter the relevant Financial Year, Quarter, Form Type, and the Latest Accepted Token Number.
Choose “Online” as the correction category and click “Submit.” A request number will be generated.
To proceed, go to “Track Correction Request” under the Defaults tab.
Enter the Request Number or date range to view the request status. Once it shows “Available,” click on the status to begin corrections.
Complete the KYC authentication using valid information.
Select “Challan Correction” from the correction category drop-down menu.
Make the necessary changes to the selected challan details.
After verifying the corrections, click on “Submit for Processing.”
Upon successful submission, a 15-digit token number will be generated and sent to the registered email ID. I hope you found this helpful.
