When I first learned that the division of a property is also determined by Vastu, I was quite surprised. It was my uncle who told me about this and also told me how to divide plot as per Vastu. He told me that Vastu states that if a house is divided between brothers, it should never be divided into three equal portions. Additionally, we shouldn't construct three homes on the same plot or compound. Every house should have its own compound wall, separated from the others by a road or path.

How to divide plot as per Vastu between brothers?

  • The eldest brother should take the west portion of the house and the younger brother should take the north or east portion if a single plot is to be shared between two brothers. Otherwise, both brothers' wealth will diminish.

  • Regardless of age, the sister should reside in the north or east of the house if a brother and sister share a home. Two brothers' homes should never be next to one another. In such a situation, one of them can suffer from childlessness or child loss.

  • The south or west direction must be built before the north or east portion if two houses are to be built on the same site without a compound wall between them.

How to divide plot according to Vastu Vastu shastra?

Following the selection of the ideal plot, Vastu Shastra advises that it be divided before the building's construction work begins, according to a carefully laid out plan.

  • Preferably, the construction site should be square or rectangular.

  • The layout should be divided into four rectangular sections by tracing a central axis. Construction must be done in these areas, namely in the southwest corner or the west and south directions.

  • It is more crucial to leave room on the east and north sides than on the west and south sides. The east and north sides receive the most favourable sunrays, which is the cause of this.

  • Every side of the building should have open space. Additionally, the plinth's height should range from 2 to 4 feet.

  • By taking the support of the compound wall in the northeast, southeast, or northwest directions, there shouldn't be any building for the outhouse, garage shade, and other units. Only a timber storeroom can be constructed. If it is constructed, the southwest wall's support in the southwest corner should be used.

  • There may be a well, an underground water storage tank, a garden, or a fountain in the northeastern corner of the site. The ground level of these items should, however, be lower than the building's plinth level. These, however, shouldn't be built in front of the compound gate.

  • It is possible to build watchman quarters, a boiler room, a transformer room, and a canteen on the southeast block, which is acceptable because it is about 2-3 feet from the compound wall.

  • The northwest corner of the site can be used to construct a godown for grain, animal feed, a store for finished goods, a motor garage, or servants' quarters.

This is how to divide plot as per Vastu.
