There are so many units of measurements in terms of lands and plots. We were about a buy a plot in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh and the agent told us about the dimensions of the plot. My husband wanted to know how to convert hectare into bigha to better understand the plot area. We looked it up online just like you. This is what we found.

We figured that to calculate hectare to bigha you must first know how many bighas make 1 hectare. We learned that 1 hectare = 3.99 bigha. So all we had to do was to take the hectare number which the agent told us and multiply it to 3.99. 

For your understanding I am sharing one example as well. 

If 1 hectare is 3.99 bighas then this will be the calculation for 118 hectare:

1 hectare = 3.99 bighas

Therefore, 118 hectares = 470.82 bighas
