There is always a lot to do in a short amount of time, especially between Dussherra and Diwali. From cleaning to decorating and gift-giving, you must ensure that the cleaning does not cause you anxiety. So, to avoid this, I also researched how to clean home for festival easily. I found that decluttering your house by getting rid of unnecessary things is an important step before doing a thorough cleaning.

5 Festival House Cleaning Tips

For a stress-free festival celebration, follow these detailed instructions for cleaning your house.

1. Declutter

Go through room by room and donate or discard items you no longer need. Discard damaged toys, utensils, and decor items, newspapers, old makeup, electronics, and expired medicines. Donate extra clothing and duplicate items.

2. Clean Your House

Starting with the ceiling fans and cobwebs, thoroughly clean the entire house.

  • Dust all over the furniture.

  • Wipe the walls with a moist towel.

  • Carefully clean the idols, shelves, and puja vessels.

  • Vacuum mattresses, sofas, and carpets to remove dust mites.

  • Clean the sinks and pipes in your kitchen and bathroom.

  • Clean pillows and cushions made of microfiber in the washing machine.

  • Use a mild soap solution to clean the stovetop, chimney, and counters.

  • For a streak-free shine, use a high-quality glass cleaner and clean window tracks and grills.

  • To clean electronic devices like the TV, air conditioner, refrigerator, and microwave, use a microfiber cloth.

3. Organise Your Stuff

  • Arrange the clothing wardrobes and cabinets properly. Put balls of camphor or naphthalene in it.

  • Sort kitchen appliances into gadgets, such as blenders and mixers, cooking utensils, cooking supplies, and cutlery, and keep each category's contents in its location.

4. Tiles Cleaning

  • Mop and sweep every floor.

  • Use a hydrogen peroxide and baking soda paste to clean the grout and tile dirt.

  • Scrub the spaces between the tiles with a toothbrush.

5. Finishing Touches

  • Any metal lights or decorations should be polished.

  • Air out the house by opening the windows.

  • Maintain the entrance tidy and make rangoli.

These are the basic tips on how to clean home for festival. I am using these tactics as well. Just letting you know that it will require time and effort. If you want your house to be spotless but don't have a lot of time, I advise hiring a professional cleaning team..
