I wasn’t able to follow his steps so I decided to contact the KHB officials. I found the contact details. I am mentioning them here for your reference:

I called the above contact number and spoke to an executive. He said that the KHB application status can be checked on the application portal. Wasn’t very helpful. 

As a precaution, I dropped an email at itsectionkhb@gmail.com with details like my application number, name, contact details, address, etc. I am awaiting their response yet.
