As I mentioned before, there are three methods that you can use, and I use the TRACES method. Here are the steps I follow to check the status. 

1. Go to the

   Income Tax Portal

2. Use your credentials to log into the portal. 

3. Next, click on the e-File and choose Income Tax Returns from the drop-down menu. 

4. After that, click on View Form 26AS.

5. This will take you to the TRACES (TDS Reconciliation Analysis and Correction Enabling System) page. 

6. You must click on View Tax Credit at the bottom of the page.

7. Finally, choose the Assessment Year from the drop-down menu, and select view as Text.

2. Refund Determined and Sent to Refund Banker: The refund has been processed and sent to the bank for crediting.

3. Refund Unpaid: The refund has not been credited due to reasons such as incorrect bank details.

4. No Demand No Refund: There is no refund due for the assessment year.

5. Refund Status Not Determined: The refund processing is still underway.

Ensure your bank account details provided in the ITR are correct. If the refund is unpaid due to incorrect details, rectify the issues by filing a refund reissue request through the e-filing portal.

For unresolved issues, contact the Centralized Processing Centre (CPC) of the Income Tax Department at their helpline number.
