Summary
To charge gas in an inverter AC, wear safety gloves and glasses, and use a manifold gauge, wrench, and refrigerant cylinder. Connect the low-pressure hose to the suction line and the high-pressure hose to the discharge line. Remove air from the hose, then open valves to let refrigerant flow. Monitor the gauge until correct pressure is reached, then close valves and remove hoses. Always hire a professional for safe charging.

Here is how to charge gas in inverter AC.

  1. Wear safety gloves and safety glasses before starting work to protect yourself from accidental gas leaks or injuries.

  2. Take a manifold gauge, an adjustable wrench, and a refrigerant cylinder. Make sure all your tools are clean and ready to use.

  3. Attach the yellow hose from the manifold gauge to the refrigerant cylinder, then tighten it to avoid any gas leaks.

  4. Use the adjustable wrench to open the charging ports on the AC outdoor unit.

  5. The larger pipe is the suction line, which is also called the low-pressure line, and the smaller pipe is the discharge line, also called the high-pressure line. Connect the low-pressure hose from the manifold gauge to the suction line.

  6. Then connect the high-pressure hose to the discharge line. Slightly loosen the low-pressure hose at the charging port.

  7. Open the cylinder valve and let a small amount of refrigerant flow into the hose. This pushes out any air inside the hose.

  8. After removing the air, tighten the hose at the charging port and close the cylinder valve.

  9. Turn on the AC unit and make sure it is running before charging.

  10. Open the cylinder valve and then open the low-pressure valve on the manifold gauge. Refrigerants will start flowing into the suction line.

  11. Occasionally, close the low-pressure valve and check the gauge to see how much refrigerant has entered.

  12. When the gauge shows the correct pressure, close both the cylinder valve and the low-pressure valve. Carefully remove all hoses from the AC unit.

  13. Finally, check the AC after charging. If the gas level drops, find the leak, fix it, and recharge the refrigerant.

Following these steps will ensure safe and proper gas charging in your inverter AC, but this is not a DIY task. It is best to hire a professional AC technician to charge the gas safely.
