How to Change Air Conditioner Filter?
Here are the three steps to change the air conditioner filter that my technician told me.
Turn off the AC. You can do this from the thermostat, breaker box, or a switch near the indoor unit.
Find where the filter is. It could be:
On the side, top, or bottom of the air handler unit.
Inside the blower cabinet.
Behind a return air vent on the wall or ceiling.
Then, look at the filter and check which way the arrows point to show the direction of the airflow. Remember that direction.
Slide out the old filter and see if it’s dirty. Before you throw away the old AC filter, check the size. The size is usually written on the edge, or you can measure it yourself. You will need that size to buy the right new one if you don’t already have a spare. Put in the new filter, making sure the arrows point the same way as the old one.
Turn the power back on.

In case you didn't know, all ACs have a filter. Usually, they can be found at the bottom of an up-flow, vertical system and the top of a down-flow, vertical system. How to change AC filter?
Turn off the AC and unplug the unit from the electricity source.
Remove the cover of the AC
Then remove the filter from the side chamber
Shake the filter to get rid of dirt or debris.
If the filter looks dingy, greyish-brown, you should install a fresh filter.
Position the new filter ( arrows not pointing at you) in return duct opening.
Push the filter in its place and ensure it's properly settled.
Put the cover on the AC
Tighten all screws and double-check them.
How to replace window ac filter?
The process to change air filters depends on the model and type of air conditioner. Window AC follows a Horizontal HVAC system. Ideally, you should replace the filter every 90 days. Make sure you install the same filter that was replaced. Follow the steps given above.
Need for clean AC Filter :If the air filter is not cleaned, the AC will get poor airflow from the vents. The noise of the fan will also be increased. Moreover, there will be problems with the heating and cooling system
