Hello buddy. A month ago, we also wanted to install contemporary doors in the 72-inch-wide window in our living room. We planned for the door's dimensions to be bigger than those of the windows. How to Replace a Window with a Door?
Firstly, a window and door replacement permit is required. So, review local building codes and get permissions.
Determine the structural load. If you're cutting down a wider opening for a door, you'll probably need a larger header beam.
Determine the width of the current window and select the appropriate door.
Take off the interior trim, window, and frame.
Slice the wall all the way to the ground.
Take out the wall studs and put in temporary supports.
Add a waterproof layer beneath the door and frame the newly created opening.
Now, ensure the foundation is level and the door fits tightly.
Complete the interior and exterior trims.
Finally, finish it by applying waterproof sealant.
