If your home search has finally come to an end then it’s time to move on and complete all the formalities. I am sharing my part of the home buying process with you. I hope this will be helpful.

Once I was prepared to finally buy my house these are the things that I did:
I paid the token money to the builder and he gave me an acknowledgement in the form of a receipt for booking my flat.
Next, I started with the legal verification process for my property. I wanted to check if all the clearances have been taken for the building, if the building plan was approved. Basically anything which could have landed me in trouble anywhere during my ownership. This took at least 3 weeks for me.
Then we created a sale agreement. The sale agreement had all the information about the price of the house, completion date, token amount received, balance amount, details of both the parties (me and the builder) and timelines for further payments, basically a breakdown of the process ahead. We both signed the contract.
I then started with getting my loan sanctioned. They conducted a thorough search and carried out an inspection to see if there was anything which wasn’t aligned legally. Once that was done the loan amount was sanctioned and EMI was decided and loan amount was disbursed to the builder.
Then finally, we started with the registration process. We created the sale deed and got it registered in the SRO with two witnesses. They will require all the legal clearances, your identity proofs, etc. at the same time I paid the stamp duty as well.
Finally when everything was done, I hoped onto the interior designing process. Trust me, it was a job in itself but totally worth it!!
This is how the home buying journey looked like for me. I hope you’ve got the essence.
