How to become real estate agent?

One of the most promising sectors to start a business is Real Estate in India. The real estate industry is massive hence becoming a real estate agent is a lucrative business. But how to become a real estate agent in India? I am here to help you with that.

Although I am not an agent, I can tell from my experience that you don’t necessarily need a degree for it. These are a few things that can help you.

1. Do your research

It is important to do your research and evaluate your options carefully. I would suggest meeting with industry veterans and accompany them. You can perhaps choose to be an intern with them and learn about the market and job properly. This way, you will be able to decide if you want to start in commercial brokerage, residential brokerage, or land investments. Once decided, obtain a certification from RERA, Real Estate Regulatory Authority, for the states you wish to operate from.

2. Make a business plan

After you are ready with all the necessities, make a full-proof business plan. You need to have a detailed know-how of challenges, requirements and scope along with funding and budgeting. Make sure you have an inventory of properties and know your target market as well.

3. Make a customer centric model

Since you are a service provider, you must keep in mind that the customers go for industry experts with knowledge about purchasing and buying properties, so make sure you have that. Apart from it, you should practice on negotiation skills & communication skills, and needless to say you are expected to have a better understanding of the property location, amenities and offerings.
