The summer is nearly here, and I was trying to find an AC service provider. While doing that, I got kind of curious about how much unit does AC consume in 1 hour? I started searching for it and learned that the major factor here is the kW of the AC. Alongside that, I also learned about a few factors that can affect this.

How Many Units AC Consume in One Hour?
As I mentioned above, the key factor here is the kW of the AC, and to calculate that, you can use the below formula.
Units per hour = kW of AC × Hours used
So, for example, if you have a 1.5-ton AC, then the unit consumed in an hour would be,
1.5 kW × 1 hour = 1.5 units.
This means that 1.5 ton AC consumes 1.5 units of electricity per hour..
Apart from the kW of the AC, there are a few minor factors as well, such as
Size of the room.
Number of people in the room.
Temperature settings.
Appliances in the room.
Star rating.
AC type.
And that’s about it. If you are worried about the bill, then I would recommend that you turn off the AC when it's not in use. I hope this helps.
