I visited a rooftop restaurant last month and was totally mesmerised by the lush green view from there. But what I loved the most is the floating staircase. Trust me it looks elegant and classy and I cannot tell you how much it added to the overall look of the area. The restaurant has both rooftop dining available as well as another dining place within the enclosed walls and I am glad that we went to the rooftop using the floating stairs. So it will depend how you are going to renovate it, what materials are you planning to use and what things need to be changed.
