I am currently looking to buy a 3 BHK flat. When I started searching, one of the first things I wanted to know was 3 BHK how many square feet? From what I found online, a standard 3 BHK is usually between 1200 to 1500 square feet. That is usually enough for three bedrooms, a living area, dining space, kitchen, and two bathrooms. I also came across other size options for 3 BHK flats, which I have shared below.
3 BHK is How Many Square Feet is Required?
From what I have seen during my search for a 3 BHK, the size really depends on the location and type of property. Here is what I have noticed.
In cities, most 3 BHK flats are around 1,000 to 1,500 sq ft. They are compact but usually designed to make good use of space.
In suburban or slightly outskirt areas, I have come across options ranging from 1,500 to 2,500 sq. ft, which feel more spacious.
Luxury ones go even bigger, some I saw were over 2,000 sq. ft. with extra features like big balconies, more bathrooms, or a terrace.
Hope this gives you a better idea of how many square feet a 3 BHK usually comes with.

How many square feet required for 3 bedroom house?
To build a spacious 3 BHK, you will need a minimum of 1200 sq ft. If you want to have a standard size 3 BHK flat, it should be built on an area of 900 to 100 sq feet, or 85 to 100 sq feet. Over this area you can build
3 bedrooms
2 halls or balconies
1 kitchen
2 toilets
1 living room and more if required.
Now let me share the size for each room-
2 bedrooms- 10*12 = 120 sq ft
1 bedroom- 10810 = 100 sq ft
1 kitchen- 8*10 = 80 sq ft
2 bathrooms- 6*8 = 48 sq ft
Living room- 10*16 sq ft
2 balconies- 2(3*8) = 48 sq ft
1 pooja room- 3.5*4.5 = 16 sq ft
Stair space- 1*105 = 105 sq ft
Now leave a surface area of about 80 sq ft. if you add all these, you will see that the carper area of 3 BHK after adding 20% for walls will be 925*1.2= 1110 sq ft
These details should be enough to help you understand what is the minimum square feet for 3 BHK required.
