Moreover, this grand structure was built using 700 million bricks and three million cubic feet of stone. Minimal amounts of steel were used during the construction process. The place has 2.5 kilometres of corridors and 190 acres of garden area.
The design of the Bhavan was conceptualised by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker. During the British Raj, this place was called Viceroy's House as it housed the Viceroy of India. Now, the President of India lives there.
