The number of bricks required for 100 square feet varies with the sizes and dimensions. We are aware that the most common brick wall thickness used in India is 4.5 inches, 9 inches, and 13.5 inches. 190 mm x 90 mm x 90 mm is the minimum standard measurement of Indian brick. When I was constructing my house, I calculated the total number of bricks required. Then I got to know about the exact figure which is needed for the construction. Let’s see how many bricks in 100 square feet are required.

Guide on how many bricks required for 100 square feet:

1) As per Indian standards, the basic and normal brick dimension is 8′′4′′4′′ (length width height). 2) Start by multiplying the length and height. For example, 8 inches long by 4 inches broad = 32 square inches. 1 sq foot Equals 12′′ X 12′′ = 144 sq inches 3) To calculate the exact quantity of bricks per square foot, divide 32 sq inches of one brick by 144, for example, 144/32 = about 4.5 nos, thus you'll require 4.5 nos of bricks per square foot. Bricks required in a single layer 4.5” brick wall of 100 square feet: In order to determine the specific number of bricks in 100 square feet, multiply the structure's square footage by 4.5. 100 X 4.5 = 450 bricks, so 450 bricks are required per 100 square feet for a 4.5-inch brick wall with a single layer. Bricks required in a single layer 9” brick wall of 100 square feet: Calculate the specific amount of bricks in 100 square feet by multiplying its square footage by nine. As an example, 100 X 9 = 900 bricks, thus a complete (double layer, 9′′) brick wall will require 900 bricks. Bricks required in a single layer 13.5” brick wall of 100 square feet: The bricks in a 100 square foot wall will need to be multiplied by 13.5 in order to determine the required number of bricks, such as 100 * 13.5 = 1350 bricks, so a full (triple-layer, 13.5′′) brick wall will require 1350 bricks. Hi, Regardless of the type of brickwork project, calculating the number of brick required for 100 sq ft aids in determining the total number of bricks required. The area's square footage, such as that of a patio or wall where the bricks are needed, must also be known.  You can get in touch with NoBroker home interior service for more suggestions and details. You may compute the approximate number of 100 square feet how many bricks required after calculating these figures. In addition, add 5 to 10 percent extra to account for broken or damaged bricks. I have gone through fedrick d'souza's answer about how many bricks used in 100 square feet. I am extremely thankful to him for such a detailed answer. I have followed the steps mentioned by him to compute the number of bricks that I would need for my brickwork project. Remember that, unlike a wall, a project like a patio or a walkway might not need mortar in between the bricks. More bricks are required for a mortarless installation than for a mortar project. I would like to conclude here about the number of brick required for 100 sq ft. I hope this helps:) Read More: How many bricks in 1m3? How many bricks are required for a 12x12 feet room? It is important to determine the number of bricks you'll need for a project that's 100 square feet in size before starting any construction or renovation work. Recently, regarding the construction of my 100 square foot room, I had a conversation with the builder. I had no idea how much bricks required for 100 sq.feet area. So I asked him and he told me that numerous aspects, like thickness, construction design, and so on, affect the required bricks. However, 1421 bricks were required for my 100 sq ft construction.

How many bricks in 100 sq ft?

Let’s find out the number of bricks for 100 square feet below:
  • Given area is 100 square feet. First, convert this area from square feet to square meter.
  • As you know that 1 square meter = 10.76 square feet. So, 1 square feet = 1/ 10.76 square meter.
  • Converting 100 square feet to sq m, i.e. 100/ 10.76 = 9.29 square meter.
  • My wall thickness was 300 mm or 0.3 meter.
  • Let’s find out the volume of the wall by multiplying area with the wall thickness.
Volume =  9.29 square meter x 0.3 meter = 2.787 cubic meter The builder told me that on average 500 bricks are needed for 1 cubic meter. So, for 2.787 cubic meter, the number of bricks required will be equal to 500 x 2.787 = 1393. Assume that 2% of the brick will be wasted during shipping, storage, and work. Then, the total bricks required for 100 sq ft = 1393 + (2% of 1393) = 1421. The above calculation indicates 1421 bricks would be needed.
