See, legally that isn’t the right way. There is no law for this. But you can talk to your landlord about the same and arrive at a settlement.  In case you are skeptical about getting your security deposit back from the landlord then you must speak with them clearly. Ideally, the security deposit is refunded when you vacate the property. The landlord usually deducts a share of the deposit for any damages to the property.  If your landlord is refusing to give your security deposit back, then you can persuade them in your favour or send them a legal notice.
