Hi Devki,

Whether you've tasted eucalyptus as a tea, smelled a candle scented with its oil, or hung a leafy eucalyptus wreath on your front door, you're likely familiar with how this beautiful plant can be much more than just another boost of green in your horticulture collection. I always offer my guests with my signature eucalyptus tea whenever they visit my home. So, as you can make out I do have a eucalyptus plant and I do know ways to grow eucalyptus plant indoor. I’d love to share how I grow and take care of my eucalyptus plant.

Take valuable help from the Interior Designers of NoBroker in deciding which indoor plant suits your home the best.

Can you grow eucalyptus indoors?

Yes, you certainly can. Outdoors, eucalyptus trees (Eucalyptus spp.) reach heights of 60 feet (18 metres) and flutter their half-moon-shaped leaves in the breeze. They're towering evergreen trees with fragrant foliage. However, the tree can also be grown indoors. Potted eucalyptus trees can be cultivated as pot perennials until they are large enough to be planted in the garden or given to a park. Eucalyptus houseplants can be cultivated as annuals since they grow so quickly. The trees will grow to be 8 feet tall (2 metres) in one season if they are cultivated from seed planted in the spring.

How to Grow Eucalyptus in a Container?

If you want to plant eucalyptus inside, you'll need to figure out how to grow it in a container. The guidelines are simple, but they are essential. If you use a standard circular container for your eucalyptus houseplants, the roots will almost certainly begin to round the inside of the pot. They'll get so tightly wound over time that you won't be able to transfer the tree. Instead, use a huge, cone-shaped Air-pot to plant your tree. It should be planted in very well, fertile soil and watered on a routine basis. Add liquid food to your plant's water once a week.

Where to Place Potted Eucalyptus Plants?

Eucalyptus trees, whether potted or not, need direct sun to thrive. Position your eucalyptus houseplants on the balcony in a sunny, protected spot where you can water them easily.

I hope I was able to share my insights on how to plant the eucalyptus plant indoor.
